This page covers the ApprovalTrail marketing site (https://approvaltrail.com) and ForPlugins, our licensing and checkout service — the data we collect about you as a visitor or a customer. It is a different document from Privacy and data, which explains what the plugin itself stores on your own WooCommerce store once it’s installed. If you’re looking for what the plugin does with your customers’ data, that’s the page you want, not this one.

Who this covers

This site is operated by Real Point Media. If you’re a shop owner evaluating or buying ApprovalTrail, or a visitor reading the docs or blog, this policy applies to you.

What we collect

  • Site analytics. Aggregate, privacy-respecting page-view analytics on the marketing site (pages visited, referrer, approximate country, device type). No cross-site tracking pixels and no ad-network trackers are installed on this site.
  • Contact and support requests. If you email [email protected] or use a contact form, we keep the message and your address to reply to you and to keep a support history.
  • Purchase records. If you buy a license, ForPlugins — our licensing and checkout service, which is a separate system from your WooCommerce store — stores your email, purchase history, license key, and site URL(s) the license is activated on, for account management and support.
  • Email list. If you sign up for the lead magnet or a nurture sequence, your email address and engagement with those emails (opens, clicks) are stored in our email platform so we can send you the sequence you signed up for and stop when you unsubscribe.

We do not sell visitor or customer data to third parties.

Cookies

The marketing site uses only the cookies required for the site and checkout to function (session state during checkout, and an analytics cookie if analytics is enabled). No third-party advertising cookies are set by us.

Where data is processed

  • Hosting: the marketing site is hosted on Hetzner Online GmbH.
  • Payments: handled by Stripe via ForPlugins, our licensing and checkout service. We never see or store your card number; see Stripe’s own privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
  • Email: sent via Klaviyo.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link in that email.
  • Request a copy or deletion of the data we hold about you as a site visitor or ForPlugins customer by emailing [email protected]. This is separate from your rights over data stored by the plugin on your own WooCommerce store — for that, see Export and erasure, which is a setting you control directly, not something we do for you.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we’ll say so on this page. We don’t expect to change it often — the data we collect is narrow and stated above in full.
